Google maps graffiti
November 12th, 2009

Since a few days Google maps updated a lot of streetmaps of Holland. They added 360 degrees spheres so you can look around as if you’re actually on a location. We snooped around to see if we could find some pieces of us and guess what, we found a few! There are probably more to be found… To check it self go to maps.google.com and use the orange man to turn on the streetview or open/download the free Google Earth application and turn on streetview there…

The wall can be found at the Rembrandtpark.
Special thanks to juice and besok for the good vibes…

Just writing my name event
August 28th, 2008
The just writing my name event in Holland was held nearby our hometown.
It was a very nice event with a good atmosphere, very friendly people and well organized.
We did a part with an explosion in cartoonstyle. We are pleased with the outcome, mostly the colorscheme: this came out very nice… The endresult can be found in the photobook on page 2.

Pixel painting
August 14th, 2008
A while ago we were in invited into painting a part of a wall next to the railroad tracks in Leeuwarden. We had the idea of making some kind of mosaic painting, which viewed from a distance, looks like a photo, and from a close view, just colored squares.
First we had to adjust a “normal” photo into a limited palette of colors and also into little squares. Being a photoshop artist, it was very easy to do that. (see photo 1)
After that we had to put some numbers manually into the squares, so that we know which colour comes where. (similar like the dutch “ravensburger” system). (see photo 2)
Next, we needed a range of similar colors. Montana cans come in different colorranges, so the choice wasn’t difficult which paint to choose from. (in dutch: je ziet hier een trapje op een trapje). (see photo 3)
Now came the hardest part: at the last moment the people who arranged the wall decided to put our piece on the left side instead of the right side, so we had to paint the “pixels” mirrored… It took approximately 8 hours to paint all squares on the wall. But the endresult looked better as we would have imagined before… (see photo 4)
Just look from a distance and see the image clearly or take you’re mobile phone and turn on the camera/photo function and aim at the screen, now you should see it clearly… (see photo 5)
