In the Netherlands and some other countries the comic is called Suske & Wiske, but in other countries it’s also known as: Bob & Bobette / Finn & Fiffi / Willy & Wanda and a couple of other names. During our childhood we did read a lot of these comics and we wanted to pay tribute to it. Of course with a little twist to it, as we usually do when painting these kind of concept walls.

The wall is painted in the characteristic style of the cover of the albums; with warm red background (done with roller paint) and the title in the same letter style as the comic to give it the exact feeling as if looking at an original album cover. We gave it the title ‘de baldadige broeders’ (which can be translated as’ the nasty brothers’).

All the main characters of the comic can be found on the wall and also a Dns piece to make it more ’streetwise’. The background was improvised on the spot by looking through various albums we brought with us. Because of the size of the wall the very small details where added with a black Molotow one4all marker, to give the wall some extra detail. All in all again this was a very fun project to do! Weather temperatures in Holland are still pretty much below zero, sowe decided to do another indoor spot. Indoor spots are good for trying new directions and are fun to do during the winterseason.

We had the idea of making rather simple pieces which are partly disintegrated by a tornado.
We painted the wall with a selection of greys from the belton range.
We kept the style of the pieces pretty basic because after adding all the effects we wanted the letters to still stand out and not becoming unreadable.

First we painted a comic style tornado in the middle.
Next we started painting the letters and put an outline around it and added a simple 3d.
After that it was time to add the movement lines in the fill and 3d to create a motion effect.
To spice it up we added some dirt all over the piece to make it look more realistic.
The transparant black came in handy for some drop shadows.
The last thing was to add some finishing touches such as adding the crewname inside the tornado and do some minor touch-ups.

All in all it was a good exercise and the effects work well.

We did paint a remake of a genuine classic from the United Street Artists from Amsterdam.
They made the original in 1985 for a tv-program called “jonge helden” (young heroes).

Years ago we already had the idea to do a remake and then change the title into “ouwe helden”(old heroes) because the guys who made this went from young men into oldschool writers.

At first we talked about making the piece with the paint and skills of today but we decided that it was better to keep it as close as possible to the original, so we used ‘Sparvar’ spraypaint and some cheap other paint to give it the oldschool look.

The United Street Artists crew was the best graffiticrew from Holland in the eighties. The members Shoe,Jezis,Joker,Delta,and Jaz are considered legends who inspired us and many others. This remake is a Tribute to the teachers and a reminder of old times,good times,Better times!

We were invited to paint at the IBE in Heerlen city. This was a good oppurtunity to paint with longtime friend Nash and also with Serval from Switzerland. We did 2 walls overthere.

Summer has finally arrived in Holland so we thought it was time to do another productionwall in our hometown.

The idea was to do a wall with a wolf in sheep’s clothing character and a little piggy and call it ‘Still not loving police’ (named after the song Still Dre by Dr. Dre). We recieved some exchange sketches by Noks from Serbia and decided to paint them also on this wall.

Painting someone else’s sketch forces to put you out of your comfort zone. This can be good, you learn to understand how another writer thinks and construct his pieces. You can learn a lot from this and it helps improve your style.

Because of the relative small size of the wall we had to work very clean in order to make our pieces stand out. Therefore we used Belton cans, you can make really small details with those cans. We painted several names around our pieces. Those are people we recently painted with or did hang out with… Not that they necessarily also still not love police…

We painted in chill modus and got a little carried away with adding details and effects. Another wall done and we learned a lot from this experience… on to the next wall… Thanks to Noks for the sketches!

A while ago we we’re invited to paint on a huge truck. This truck had to be painted on a family festival somewhere in Holland. The theme of the festival was oldschool videogames.

We painted a lot of cars before but never a huge truck, so we didn’t have to think long about this oppurtunity and agreed to come over. We thought about the idea of doing something with oldschool videogames and thought Space Invaders would be a nice theme to work with. The truck had to be painted in one day, so we asked out crewmember sperm if he was down with us to do the background. This way we could easily paint this concept within one day.

After preparing the concept and selecting a wide range of cans for the background we we’re eager to paint the truck and left early. When we arrived at the festival we had to walk pretty far and then we finally arrived at the spot where we would paint the truck…. This was definately not what we expected! We we’re flabbergasted by seeing the surface where we had to paint on. It was on some cheap plastic which was mounted very loosely on a truck. We took our stuff and left in a hurry and searched for a wall in the neighnourhood where we could paint the concept on.

We knew a place nearby and painted the concept there. It still came out fresh we think, but it would look even nicer on a truck… Well sometimes things don’t go as you plan but you have to make the best out of it.

We we’re asked to paint a wall for the ‘Just Writing My Name meets series’. We did choose to paint a wall in PJ Warlock theme. This character was created by Bill Schorr and has a striking resemblance with Vaughn Bodés characters. We don’t know the story behind that but thought the overall feeling of this characters is very cool and as far as we know, no one ever painted this characters yet.

We planned to do this conceptwall for quite a long time, but for some reasons there always came something inbetween. We we’re lucky  that for the time of the year (autumn) the weather forecast was pretty good. So we decided it was time to paint the concept.

We rollerpainted the background in  a spacy green color and used some colors of the Molotow range to make a glow. After that we rolled the bottompart also, but this time in a pink color. Next it was time to make some fading on the upperpart of the wall with fatcaps. Romeo focussed on the background first and meanwhile Mega painted the character. After that was finished we both focussed on our pieces. Since the wall is not so big we had to keep our pieces relatively simple.

We just finished before dark… Another project done and onto the next one!

We had some fun customizing our own graffiti umbrella. Romeo came up with the idea of painting an umbrella in graffiti style a while ago. Since it was raining we couldn’t paint outside, so we decided it was about time to pimp the umbrella’s. We never did see a graffiti umbrella before so it was a nice experiment to try.

We even made some footage of the final result.
